Here at GME we have recently been contracted to work with DPD. The new distribution centre based in Morley needed to be decorated, and we are delighted to say that we were chosen as the company to do the job!
GME were contracted to undertake works on the new offices, canteen, and toilets for all the warehouse staff. We wanted to ensure that these were pleasant places for the staff to work, as we know how important it is for a clean environment to work in. We also painted safety reversing barriers in the loading/unloading bays, the internal sealing of the cladding and ensured that all corridors were painted. In true GME style we ensured that the work was completed to the highest of standard.
The new distribution centre will be the first of its kind in the Leeds area, and has been introduced due to a significant investment by the Howley Park owner Pullans. For DPD, this continues a period of growth that the company have experienced here in the UK, thanks largely to the success of the launch of its Predict service. Predict notifies customers of their one hour delivery slot in advance, so they do not need to wait all day for their parcel – a revolutionary idea and one that has benefited many customers.
Louise Ferguson, general manager of property at DPD, said: “Our new Leeds distribution Centre will be a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility that will allow us to expand our existing operation to meet our growing business needs and create a significant number of new jobs.”
