GME continue work on 17th century property

6th September 2017

At GME, our team are fortunate enough to work on many amazing projects, and this is one of them. Situated in a small stone village in the North Yorkshire countryside, the residents of this beautiful 17th century property chose our team to help them redecorate the inside and the outside of the property, whilst retaining the charm and history of the building.

Because of the size and the detail involved in this project, our team have spent months carrying out the work to ensure it is completed to the highest standard and tailored to the clients’ brief.

Initially stripping beams, windows, and timber features, the GME team then professionally prepped all the walls and wood panelling ready to receive paint in many of the rooms including the kitchen and bathrooms. Due to the nature of the project, and the importance of preserving the antique features of the property, many specialist paints were used such as Little Greene and Farrow & Ball. These were used to paint all decorative ceilings and walls, as well as the cellar and garages. Finally, work was carried out on all external windows, guttering, and fall pipes.

Although our team have worked on many brilliant projects over the years including, Cartwright Hall, Bradford City Hall and more recently, HeadOffice3, this stunning property, which is spread over 191 acres, is one that we will definitely remember!
