We act with honesty, transparency, and fairness—every time. Our reputation is built on trust, and we protect it by upholding high standards in every project, decision, and conversation.

What Sets Us Apart

At GME, we believe that how we work is just as important as what we deliver.

From our base in Wakefield, we manage projects across the UK with precision, care, and respect for the environments we work in. Whether we’re redecorating a heritage building, delivering responsive repairs for local authorities, or transforming a high-traffic commercial space, our approach remains consistent: clean, efficient, and customer-focused.

Our teams are trained to work around live environments—minimising disruption, protecting residents and users, and always leaving sites tidy and safe. Every job is underpinned by detailed project planning and effective communication. Clients have complete visibility through progress updates, consistent site reporting, and our own internal tracking systems.

We take pride in our mess-free execution and ability to adapt to any working condition, whether it’s a tight deadline, a complex compliance brief, or a sensitive occupied setting. Across sectors, across services—our clients trust us to deliver high standards without the hassle.

The People Behind GME

Behind every project is a team of people who care. At GME, our leadership brings decades of hands-on experience, sector expertise, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way. From strategic oversight to site-level planning, each team member plays a vital role in delivering the quality, care, and consistency our clients expect.

Gavin Esberger

Managing Director

Gavin began his career as an apprentice decorator over 20 years ago. As Managing Director, he now oversees all areas of the business, including finance, personnel, sales, and marketing. Deeply involved in project development, Gavin regularly visits sites and works closely with clients from the initial estimate through to delivery. He also monitors key performance indicators, manages the company’s Quality Policy, and ensures health, safety, and wellbeing standards are met across all GME operations—protecting both employees and the communities we work within.

Layla Walton

Commercial Director

Layla brings extensive experience in contract management, particularly across council-led housing improvement schemes. She has delivered Home Improvement Agency contracts for Barnsley, Sheffield, and Rotherham, with a focus on properties for elderly and vulnerable residents. At GME, Layla oversees contract operations, HR, marketing, customer care, bid writing, social value delivery, and performance reporting. Her leadership ensures both people and processes are aligned for maximum impact and quality.

Matthew started in the industry in 1998, also as an apprentice, working on Yorkshire Council contracts. Today, as Contracts Director, he ensures the smooth daily operation of all active contracts. He’s responsible for overseeing site activity, budgets, project timelines, and completion quality. Matthew is closely involved in workforce training, ensuring all operatives are fully equipped to meet client expectations. He currently manages major frameworks including Bradford Metropolitan City Council, Mansfield Council, and Harrogate Borough Council.
