At GME we have worked with many construction and property development companies throughout the region on projects of all sizes. It’s always rewarding to be involved with projects like this, to see how they progress and to help them come to life. Recently we worked with Triton Construction on a project involving the conversion of an existing mill into 39 modern apartments.
Located in the heart of Skipton, Belle Vue Mills comprises of a collection of buildings which, as former mills, have since been used as office space, accommodating North Yorkshire County Council amongst others, and more recently as living space built by other developers. Overlooking the Leeds Liverpool Canal, the building holds an abundance of history, and this is something the developers wanted to preserve when designing the new apartments.
This residential development was designed and built on the east wing at Belle Vue Mills. Our team not only decorated the one and two-bedroomed loft-styled apartments using neutral colour tones, they also professionally painted and finished the communal areas of the development including the staircases and corridors. The interior of the development is designed to look fresh and modern whilst retaining the essence of the Mills’ heritage, which dates back to the 1800s.
This has been a great project to work on, not only because of its sizeable scale, but also because we have contributed to the history of the building. The development has a lot of character and a fantastic location, making it a very special project, and one that we’re sure will appeal to many people in the Yorkshire area.
